We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Team Lead for the Evening and Night Nursing Service which is part of our Urgent Community Response Team based at Regent Point in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team of friendly, experienced and professional staff who provide care for patients in their own homes and care homes out of hours. To be responsible for the operational management of the nursing team. To support the Clinical Manager in managing the service and its resources. To work in partnership with community teams and services to support the delivery of high standards of patient care. To identify areas for potential improvement, to support the development of services. To demonstrate leadership of the team, taking an active role with the professional development of the workforce. To facilitate an environment where team members are supported to work and develop clinical practice. To work with the Clinical Manager to meet national, local and service priorities. To support the Clinical Manager to lead and manage change through a multi-skilled team approach, supporting the development of staff and services to meet identified gaps in the service and in line with Government policy. To work collaboratively to meet the needs of service users in order to provide greater access, choice, and to enhance current service use. Job responsibilities

To be responsible for the operational management of a designated cluster of community nursing teams. To support the Clinical Manager in managing the service and its resources. To work in partnership with community teams and services to support the delivery of high standards of patient care. To be the principal point of contact for allocated GP Practices, local statutory, private and voluntary providers, carers, and service users in a designated area. To identify areas for potential improvement, to support the development of services in line with the requirements of the commissioning body. To demonstrate leadership of the designated cluster of community nurses, taking an active role with the professional development of the workforce. To facilitate an environment where team members are supported to work and develop clinical practice. To work with the Clinical Manager to meet national, local, and service priorities as determined by the Annual Operating Plan, Service Level Agreements, and contract. To support the Clinical Manager to lead and manage change through a multi-skilled team approach, supporting the development of staff and services to meet identified gaps in the service and in line with Government policy. To work collaboratively to meet the needs of service users in order to provide greater access, choice, and to enhance current service use. To proactively contribute to the delivery of the public health agenda. Person Specification

Qualifications & Education

Registered Nurse (appropriate to Branch). Valid NMC registration. Degree/Masters levels study or equivalent specialist study/experience. UK Driving licence. Leadership course. Knowledge & Experience

Extensive clinical practice in speciality, some of which will be at senior level. Meets nursing and midwifery council requirements for Mentorship. Experience of managing/leading nursing teams. Evidence of achievement in current post and ongoing professional development. Knowledge of adult/child safeguarding. Knowledge and understanding of current relevant NHS policy context. Research experience. Skills & Abilities

Ability to demonstrate effective leadership. Ability to demonstrate change management. Effective organisation and time management skills. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
