Job summary We are recruiting for 1 full time permanent Team Lead to join the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service. Welcome! The Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service is a busy caring team consisting of Administration staff, PWPs, CBT Practitioners, and Counsellors. We deliver Talking Therapies to the people of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin which has exciting, diverse and growing modern towns, surrounded by the stunning Shropshire countryside. Our NHS Talking Therapies team is a great place to work. We have recently redefined our service offer, including a new leadership structure, and we need your help with the continued development of the new ways of working. Main duties of the job

You will managerially lead the Step 2 / Step 3 staff of the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service. This will include appraising staff and providing line management supervision whilst adhering to the key principles of the NHS Talking Therapies programme contained in the NHS Talking Therapies Manual. You will provide all aspects of line management to Step 2 / Step 3 clinicians (trainee & qualified) within the service. You will be responsible for ensuring that service and individual performance targets at Step 2 / Step 3 are met, identifying and resolving underperformance and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve results. You are not expected to have a clinical caseload, although a small caseload could be negotiated to meet the minimum requirements for professional registration/ Accreditation within one core modality. You will be working with Staff, Service Users and Carers from different cultural backgrounds, ages, difference and diversity, and should be committed to culturally sensitive practice and offering equality of opportunity. Qualifications

Essential Post graduate diploma or equivalent qualification in Counselling / Qualification from High Intensity NHS Talking Therapies Course (Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent). Accredited with BABCP/UKCP/BACP/NCS. NHS Talking Therapies approved supervision training for High Intensity workers or equivalent portfolio of experience. Qualification from PWP NHS Talking Therapies Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate / Graduate Certificate / Apprenticeship Qualification). Registered Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with BABCP or BPS. NHS Talking Therapies approved supervisors training for Low Intensity workers or equivalent portfolio of experience. Desirable Leadership training and qualification ILM. Experience

Essential Extensive NHS Talking Therapies experience and evidence of working with a range of problems. Experience of supervising NHS Talking Therapies staff and/or trainees. Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes. Ability to meet own agreed/specified service targets. Demonstrates high standards in written communication. Experience of liaising with other professional groups. Desirable Experience of appraising clinical staff on an annual basis. Experience of reviewing staff performance and effectively challenging underperformance. Experience of providing line management to clinical staff. Skills

Essential Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to staff. Able to develop good relationships with members of staff. Ability to make judgements involving the analysis and interpretation of complex facts or situations. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Demonstrates significant knowledge and understanding of the aims and objectives of the NHS Talking Therapies programme. Understands the importance of the commissioning process and achieving agreed targets. Desirable Able to carry out risk assessment of work space.
