Within their industry sector, they are recognized as being a world leader in innovation and delivery of innovative high-technology equipment and solutions. Their products are regularly rated among the best in their field. Their products are made from a range of construction materials, from mild or galvanised steel, through to stainless steel. You will be part of a team consisting of mechanical design, R&D, control systems, process improvement, technical writing and engineering support staff. This role has arisen to create a greater focus on product design and lifting the talented design team to the next level. You will have a strong focus on the design of the products from the ground up, recognizing any potential design flaws before and during the build. In addition to your own hands-on Design responsibilities, you will supervise a small team of Mechanical Design personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates, work plans, review and approve mechanical investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive high quality work plans, successful implementation of mechanical components, team support and training, and project performance. SKILLS The personal fit is very important for this role. We need you to be a person of confidence and a mentor/leader of junior members of the team. Ideally you will have a number of the following attributes: Ability to lead and mentor fellow Design staff.
