About The Role and Person

Capel Manor College is now looking to appoint a Team Leader and HE Programme Manager in Animal Management to join its team.

Our School of Animal Management offers a wide range of courses including a Level 1 Introduction to Animal Care course, the Level 2 Animal Care Technical Diploma, and the Level 3 Animal Management Advanced Diploma. We also offer Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Veterinary Science and Animal Science and Welfare, as well as a Keeper and Aquarist apprenticeship and Higher Education courses in Animal Management and Zoology and Animal Management and Biodiversity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing a curriculum area within the department. They will work collaboratively and innovatively with staff to lead a culture of self-assessment and continuous improvement, promoting high standards of teaching and learning within the area, and producing high standards of student achievement, progression, and value added. The Team Leader acts as Lead Internal Verifier and ensures all quality assurance procedures are fully complied with. They will actively ensure a high quality of provision in response to student and employer/industry needs and promote new ways of teaching.

We welcome applications from experienced curriculum managers looking for a new challenge and outstanding classroom practitioners looking for their first move into a management position. The ideal candidate will have a HND, degree, or similar in a science or animal-related discipline. Experience of working in the Animal Management industry and a commitment to animal welfare are also essential.
