The post holder has responsibility for the daily management of the department, which involves coordinating patient care, timely and appropriate interventions, and deployment of staff to provide a high standard of nursing care to all ED patients. The post holder will also provide a clinical nursing service, demonstrating through practice the desired model of care for all grades of nursing staff. As a senior clinical nurse, the team leader is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of family-centred programmes of care and is accountable for the quality of care delivered within the department environment by the nursing team. Main Duties of the Job
Act as a role model and support for junior staff and act as a senior resource for expert clinical advice. Continually monitor standards of care and lead the improvement of care. Promote and maintain a culture of patient and staff incident reporting in accordance with Trust Guidelines. Be responsible for planning and implementing care and act in a supervisory role to junior staff. Maximise best use of clinical resources, monitor and evaluate patient flow, admission and discharge arrangements. Be responsible for effective communication within the team and department.
