What you will be doing As a Field Service Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing the Energy Storage Systems Field Service Team in the region (Africa- Europe), Energy & Storage & Optimization Business in accordance with the strategy, action plan and business needs. As a Field Service Team Leader, your work will focus on these responsibilities: Coordinate orders according to internal procedures and customer requirements as well as Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines. Service order preparation - collect all details concerning the service order for internal and external customers (scope of work, documentation, place of work, travel arrangements, etc.). Coordinate people when they are assigned to the specific work order. Perform briefing/de-briefing with Energy Storage Systems FS engineers with ESS Lifecycle Team - discuss safety aspects (JSA) and job details. Assist Energy Storage Systems FS engineers during the job execution. Act as contact person for the Internal / External customers during the work. Monitor the work progress and duration regularly. Keep updated internal systems (SWF, Planning Board, etc.). Ensure the work order will be invoiced on time. Service Work Report verification with Technical Service Team and approval. Verify and approve the working hours in the system. Travel expenses approval. Close the service order in the system and invoice according to internal procedures. Assistance in case of work and quality issues - Root cause analysis, participate in discussion with the customer if necessary. Evaluate the Field Service demand during the Lifecycle period and define appropriate actions including subcontractors. Development of team competencies as required to address current and future needs. Ensure that the team is utilized effectively, having the right people in the right place at the right time. Foster strategic relationships with institutes of learning to attract and develop talent. Manage and maintain internal and external relationships, focused on achieving company targets. Facilitate and maintain excellent collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the delivery chain (Project Delivery, Commissioning, Agreements, Lifecycle Support, Sales, Parts, Technical Service team). Contribute to the annual budget preparation, and service forecast evaluations. Set the individual performance and development targets of your team. Responsible for full utilization of Field Services resources - cost optimization (P&L). Produce regular and frequent job status updates and other reporting documents, following Line Manager indications. To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar qualifications. Experience on project management or field service hands-on or management experience is a plus, preferably in renewable power generation or a service setting involving electrical, controls, and network communication systems. Experience in the energy industry with focus in energy storage services a plus. Desired Skills and Experience Relevant supervisory or leadership experience or Energy Storage Systems Field Service experience. Understanding of the Field Service process and Customer Service concept. Be proficient with process tools such as SAP, SAP knowledge is seen as an advantage, Salesforce (CRM), QlikView, Asana, FS Mobility, and others. Proficient knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite; high proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. As an ideal candidate, we expect you to have: Basic knowledge of energy storage value proposition in the wholesale energy markets. Existing familiarity with energy storage equipment vendors for the implementation of BESS site works. Approachable with a solution mindset. Able to prioritize, strong time management skills and ability to multiple tasks. Curious mind and attention to detail. High integrity, can-do attitude, forward thinking. Passionate about people. Strong focus on quality and safety. Excellent communication and technical skills (verbal and written) in languages needed to support the team. Strong organizational skills. Ability to lead persons of different cultural backgrounds. Good understanding of profit and loss and cost to serve. Ability to work under pressure for other urgent tasks the Line Manager will assign. (In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.)
