Position Summary

You are the Captain of your Area. You are responsible to ensure consistency of Service standards, excellent service and maintain the cleanliness and condition. You are accountable in achieving the store’s sales and profit by maintaining upselling procedures and guest care. It is your responsibility to keep your people driven and create a cheerful professional working environment that will keep our Guests wanting to return to German Doner Kebab

Duties and Responsibilities

Leads Operations Excellence:

  • Oversees and manages at a German Doner Kebab Restaurant
  • Ensures guest service meets company standards and strong customer satisfaction is maintained
  • Respond efficiently to Guest complaints and takes appropriate action to solve the problem
  • Enforces and ensures the best quality of products possible is served
  • Organise and supervise responsibilities to ensure both team colleagues and guests satisfaction
  • Trains and directs team members through strong well organised training to ensure great guest service
  • Appraise personnel’s performance and provide feedback to keep the team motivated and productive
  • Maintain Stock inventory and analyse consumption
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with food safety and health & safety rules and regulations
  • Successfully promote and publicize the GDK brand
  • Nurture a positive working environment and leads by example
  • Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions
  • To be duty manager on rotation basis
  • Lead Pre- and Post-Shift rally with the team to communicate set targets, share feedback and brief the team about any business related information
  • Taking responsibility for the business performance of the front of House of a German Doner Kebab restaurant
  • To ensure operating according to GDK guidelines
  • Address the root cause of related Guest complaints and take action to resolve the problem
  • Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company uniform standards
  • Meeting and greeting guests and organising table reservations
  • Organising and supervising the shifts of dining and counterstaff
  • Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
  • Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required
  • Helping in any position when circumstances dictate
  • To take a proactive role in encouraging teamwork, cooperation, harmony, productivity and a positive attitude within the working environment
  • At the end of each shift complete all necessary daily reports
  • Attend any training or meetings as and when required by German Doner Kebab or the Franchisee
  • To perform any other duties as designated by Operations Manager due to business demands
  • Working with General Store Manager to coordinate all aspects
  • To monitor the stock storage areas and neat and clean at all times
  • To collaborate with the General Store Manager and the Store Team to ensure tight stock control and budgeted margins are achieved
  • To fill out daily paperwork
  • To meet and greet all customers where possible and role model exceptional guest care
  • To lead and comply with maintaining high standards of guest care
  • To support team colleagues at peak times and to undertake any operational duty which might be reasonably required, to ensure guest expectations are met
  • Ensure GDK team are always well groomed and smart ready for work
  • At all times promote and follow legal responsibilities and requirements associated with the business
  • Have a good working knowledge of all equipment and efficiently takes care of preventative maintenance

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate for the position of a Shift Leader should have outstanding interactive and communication skills and possess the enthusiasm to work with colleague and team as a team player. In addition to these, the following qualities, skills, knowledge, and abilities are most sought:

  • Proven working experience as Supervisor/Duty Manager within the Food Industry
  • Demonstrated experience in guest service management
  • Extensive guest care knowledge
  • Proficiency in English
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Financial management skills
