Job Introduction

Do you have personal experience of street homelessness, substance use or mental health challenges and a passion for supporting others? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape an innovative service in Staffordshire, designed to support individuals experiencing homelessness (including street homelessness) to engage with essential services such as mental health support, healthcare, substance misuse services and long-term housing options. The role will help build a continually developing community, not just a service, with true power-sharing at its core. The service has a dual focus: Proactive outreach support to people experiencing street homelessness Provision of a bespoke 6 bedroomed accommodation service for people with experience of homelessness and complex needs which may include mental health, substance misuse and physical health needs. At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health issues. You will make a real difference to their lives as you work closely with them to help them achieve their potential. Turning Point has several well-established services within Staffordshire. You will form part of a wider supportive team within the region and there is the opportunity for growth in the future. Role Responsibility

As a Team Leader you’ll make a real difference to their lives as you work closely with them to help them achieve their potential. You will form part of a supportive management team within the region and there is the opportunity for growth in the future. As a Team Leader you will support the development of this service alongside the Service Manager, providing line management to a team of Recovery Workers/Peer Support Workers, enabling the service to meet and exceed outcomes and quality requirements that promote independence and recovery for the individuals we support. You will have some oversight of referrals to the service and will work closely within our multi-disciplinary team, to ensure the best possible outcomes for individuals we support. As an essential, you will have previous relevant experience of using a person-centred approach in a Mental Health setting, a good understanding of the complex needs of individuals we support and experience of working with people with mental health crisis. You must be capable of prioritising your own workload and using your initiative. An effective team player, you will possess good communication skills, a flexible recovery focused approach, a positive attitude and be able to adapt in a changeable environment. A background working in an environment supporting vulnerable people in the community is essential. Experience of service planning and ensuring that services are well positioned to meet contractual requirements would also be advantageous. You will also have experience of working with people with mental health crisis. About us
