Web-cast Accounting Manager £70,000 - £75,000 + great benefits 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Welwyn (Hybrid working in place)

Our client, a brand synonymous with quality and choice, has a newly created fixed term requirement, suiting a finance professional with a track record in providing resolution to technical accounting issues.

With the brief to create clear accountability and hold responsibility for the integrity of management financial information, the chosen candidate will be responsible for the identification and resolution of group wide issues and areas of risk or concern. The position will be the cornerstone of technical accounting activities including risk and IFRS compliance.

Key areas of responsibility:

Providing technical accounting advice to management and finance teams across the Group on complex and material transactions Preparing and reviewing accounting papers supporting the accounting for key transactions, explaining complex issues clearly and concisely Monitoring, analysing and assessing the impact of new accounting standards, amendments and interpretations, including IFRS 18 Continuously improving the Group Accounting Policies manual Designing and presenting training webcasts on new accounting developments and topical issues Supporting the preparation of and reviewing the Group's annual and interim accounts, making suggestions for best practice disclosure improvements, especially in relation to new accounting standards.

Ad hoc projects are a regular feature of this role and require strong analytical ability as well as proven influencing skills over other functions within the business. The ability to build credibility with senior management as well as the strength of character to overcome resistance to change are pre-requisites to any application.
