Technical and Regulatory Manager - Circa £55,000 plus package - Hybrid/East Midlands - 1-2 days per week onsite We are currently on the hunt for an accomplished Technical and Regulatory Manager to support the Head of Compliance for a leading client of ours. You will play a central role in upholding regulatory standards, staying abreast of all relevant laws and regulations, and fostering strong, collaborative relationships with the Assurance team and other departments. As a recognised technical expert, you will drive the enhancement of internal processes, lead knowledge-sharing initiatives, and stay on top of evolving regulations that could affect business operations. Your passion for compliance will be pivotal in ensuring the organisation meets its obligations in areas such as AML, regulatory affairs, and assurance. Key Responsibilities: Work alongside the Head of Technical & Compliance to implement and maintain the System of Quality Management (SoQM). Collaborate with the Assurance team to embed audit methodologies into everyday practice, meeting both internal and external quality benchmarks. Continuously refine audit approaches in response to regulatory changes and industry best practices. Act as an internal authority on accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry trends. Provide guidance on complex technical issues, ensuring teams stay aligned with current regulations and best practices. Conduct training sessions and workshops, boosting the overall technical competency of the organisation. Identify and monitor key regulations and standards impacting the business, ensuring compliance with accounting, auditing, and financial service rules. Stay informed about global, national, and local regulatory developments, advising on any operational implications. Keep policies and procedures updated to reflect newly emerging requirements and best practices. Assist the Head of Technical & Compliance with enhancing AML policies and processes, ensuring alignment with relevant regulations. Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Advise senior leadership on technical and regulatory issues, contributing to decision-making in areas like risk management and quality oversight. Champion a culture of compliance and technical excellence through collaborative initiatives, continuous improvement, and nurturing internal expertise. Experience and skills required: ACA, ACCA, or equivalent, with extensive technical and regulatory experience in accounting or auditing. 5-7 years in a professional services environment, ideally encompassing audit methodology, financial regulations, and compliance testing. Solid understanding of the System of Quality Management, auditing standards (ISAs), AML regulations, and procedures for managing client funds. Proactive, solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to anticipate challenges and propose effective remedies. Strategic thinking skills that balance short-term requirements with long-term objectives. Calm under pressure, adept at managing multiple priorities.
