Technical Architect What does a successful Technical Architect do? As a Technical Architect, you will identify technology solutions that meet business requirements, defining and describing those solutions and solution requirements, and providing specifications for solutions management and delivery. You will be challenged to push the technical boundaries of the latest technologies to provide innovative, performant event processing solutions. What you will do: Understand business objectives and translate requirements into solutions that provide exceptional user experiences for customers. Support and influence selection and adoption of core technologies, development tools, and standards in conjunction with other senior colleagues. Develop prototypes and proof of concept applications as required to prove new architectures and technologies. Contribute to the delivery of high-quality solutions. Deliver high-quality estimates and outcomes for complex projects. Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineers to support business and operational partners. What you will need to have: At least 8 years’ experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in an architecture role. Bachelor’s Degree at College of Engineering and Technology or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of payments industry is desirable. Good understanding of how technology relates to business, market, and industry and applies such knowledge to support the needs of the business. Excellent understanding of modern architectural patterns and of how a wide variety of technologies interact with each other to provide excellent user experiences. Excellent understanding of business challenges around delivery of digital solutions at pace within a large organization. In-depth conceptual functional and non-functional knowledge of: Cloud Technologies - PaaS/IaaS/SaaS - AWS, Azure, etc., Micro-service architectures, Kubernetes, Kafka event-driven architecture, experience of API and service-based architecture, in-memory databases and caching solutions, knowledge of implementation considerations for UI technologies, high availability and contingency solutions. Highly organized and highly competent in solving issues and finding solutions.
