This is an opportunity for an

SC Cleared Technical Architect

to take a lead role in a revolutionary greenfield digital transformation programme, at the very cutting edge of technology. This specific role offers the opportunity to drive the architecture of concepts and solutions in the field of autonomous, AI-led technology for defence operations in a military context. We are seeking highly experienced candidates with exceptional stakeholder leadership skills combined with a software development / government digital services background.

Responsibilities

Providing leadership and oversight to development resources in an agile environment Technically leading the development of an enterprise-class digital service Driving the technical direction for the project, drawing upon modern tools and frameworks to best suit the requirement Assisting in defining the architecture from an infrastructure, microservices, integration, security, and visualisation perspective Supporting in project delivery within Scrum / Kanban environments, seeing projects through to commercially successful conclusion Maintaining close relationships with demanding stakeholders throughout the project Using iterative software development practices to continuously evolve and deploy solutions Technical Skills / Experience Core tech: Python, Flask, React, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, & ArchiMate. Good knowledge of DevOps, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines Experience in creating Real-time and Secure systems, ideally in a military context Experienced with Service Mesh (Istio or ideally Open Service Mesh) Required Experience A proven background in the delivery of projects to GDS (Government Digital Services) standards Appreciation for security standards in military / sensitive public sector digital services Experienced practitioner within multidisciplinary agile teams Very comfortable with the concepts of user-centred design and how architecture supports user-centred decision making. Desirable experience of defence and defence architectures but not at the cost of user-centred design, interpersonal skills, agile practice or cloud-native technology. A rich technical background including hands-on software development in a digital services environment Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to lead technical and business teams to a successful solution Active SC level security clearance Additional Information Day Rate: Up to £585/day IR35: Outside Duration: 6 months (significant opportunity for extension) Location: Hampshire (1 day per fortnight onsite working) Due to the nature of the project, candidates must be British Nationals only and have active SC level security clearance
