Technical Backup Engineer - St Albans - Remote - £60,000 - £65,000 VIQU are working with a leading international organisation who are looking to hire a Technical Backup Engineer to provide Level 2 support within their Service Operations team. This customer-facing role will involve resolving advanced technical issues related to data protection and enterprise backup solutions while safeguarding client data against ransomware attacks. You will communicate directly with clients via phone and email, requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills. Key Requirements of the Technical Backup Engineer:

Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in resolving technical issues in a support environment. Expertise in backup and disaster recovery technologies (Rubrik, Druva, Zerto, Commvault, NetBackup) and public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). Proficient in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) and Microsoft 365 (M365). Knowledge of Microsoft Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and Linux operating systems (RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu). Skilled in Scripting and automation (PowerShell) and creating detailed technical documentation. Valid UK Driving Licence. Key Responsibilities of the Technical Backup Engineer:

Serve as the technical escalation point for the Level 1 support team. Troubleshoot both basic and complex backup-related issues, reviewing application logs to identify root causes and solutions. Escalate unresolved issues to vendors, managing the process to ensure timely and effective technical resolutions. Perform data restores, implement service and change requests, and ensure the smooth execution of backup-related tasks. Maintain and update backup applications (Rubrik, Druva, Zerto, Commvault), configure monitoring tools, and create comprehensive technical documentation.
