Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Consultant to join our team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft technologies, encompassing both Microsoft Server infrastructure and Azure. This individual should also possess expertise in virtualisation technologies (VMware, Citrix, Nutanix), a solid understanding of network concepts, and a strong commitment to growing with the company. This will be a diverse role requiring someone who can work from their initiative and independently. Occasional travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities: Microsoft Solutions Expertise: – Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive Microsoft solutions, including on-premises server infrastructure and cloud-based solutions on Azure. – Stay updated on the latest Microsoft technologies, best practices, and trends. – Implement and manage virtualisation solutions using VMware, Citrix, and Nutanix. – Optimise virtual environments for performance, scalability, and reliability. – Troubleshoot virtualisation-related issues.

Network Concepts: – Possess a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols. – Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues as they pertain to IT infrastructure.

Client Support: – Provide exceptional support to existing clients, ensuring timely issue resolution. – Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and tailor solutions accordingly.

Deployment Projects: – Lead and contribute to deployment projects, ensuring successful implementation. – Work closely with project teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality solutions.

Occasional Travel: – Be willing to travel occasionally to client sites for project implementation and support.

Commitment to Company Growth: – Demonstrate a keen interest in growing with the company and contributing to its success. – Actively participate in professional development opportunities and qualifications. – Demonstrate a commitment to advancing your skills and knowledge in the IT industry.

Customer-Facing Skills: – Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills. – Engage with clients in a professional and customer-friendly manner.

Qualifications/Experience – Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft solutions, both on-premises and in Azure. – Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Citrix, Nutanix). – Solid understanding of network concepts and protocols. – Industry-recognised certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional, Citrix Certified Associate) are a plus. – Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. – Excellent customer-facing and communication skills. – Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems is advantageous.
