Role Description
The Technical Consultant will work within the Delivery environment organizing and overseeing all customer-based IT implementations, developing quality processes and documentation for installation to satisfy the customer and business requirements.
They will work within the Service environment organizing and overseeing all customer-based IT activities, developing quality processes for finding and resolving incidents and problems to meet defined Service Level Agreements to satisfy the customer and business requirements.
Responsibilities
Act on a consultancy basis for completing any pre-sales requirements, which may include but are not limited to: Review customers' existing infrastructure Platform sizing and design Match to contractual performance, availability, etc. Documentation requirements and development, e.g. Environmental reports, solutions design, etc. Work within the delivery environment completing required customer-based IT implementation project work, which may include but is not limited to: Work with hardware suppliers to manage, configure and implement the appropriate solutions on-site Configure hardware maintenance plans Design, agree and implement remote access capabilities Agree backup, virus protection, etc. policies with clients Documentation requirements and development, e.g. Server build and configuration audits, disaster recovery, support handover, etc. Act on a consultancy basis with the project delivery/management team for technical issues Take part in application deployments/migrations, usually scripted or partially scripted, for various Clinisys products and modules including ICE, WinPath Enterprise, and WinPath V5 Carry out or assist with database installations, including Oracle (via pre-configured templates) and MSSQL Work within the Service environment organizing and overseeing all customer-based IT activities, which may include but is not limited to: Assist with/review/management of network infrastructure issues including network design and configuration Assist with/review/management of hardware platform issues including SAN/Cluster configuration Assist with/review/management of general infrastructure issues including networking, backups, VMWare/Hyper V, OS issues, etc. Processes review regarding handover and support of implemented platforms including remote monitoring tools for server hardware support Participate in strategy for deployment of applications Participate in improvements for proactive approach regarding support methodology and processes Pre-emptive checks Act on a consultancy basis with all internal teams to aid with all site-related technical issues and incidents Ensure relevant technical documentation is completed/updated for all internal teams and customers as required Understand, comply and develop with customer and Clinisys procedures, working practices and directives in a timely manner Understand our Customers’ short and long-term strategies, advise and assist with Clinisys products to facilitate these needs Have a basic understanding of the core functions of Pathology products and that of general disciplines Fully understand the service Clinisys has been engaged to deliver in line with contractual and other customer expectations Develop and maintain rapport with end users by displaying a detailed understanding of their IT environment and Pathology issues/pressures
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Strong Technical background, ideally: Virtualisation (VMWare / HyperV), Server installation and Maintenance, Windows Domain Knowledge Clustering, NLB, High availability, Basic Networking knowledge, IIS Some exposure to Oracle RAC / DataGuard, Oracle on Windows and MSSQL would be useful Exposure to iSCSI storage or Fibre Channel storage Microsoft AZURE deployment: ADO / ADO Repo - Boards - WIKI / Deployment Pipelines / Power shell / Power shell desired state / YAML
