You will be responsible for undertaking regular and ad hoc audits of conveyancing matters. Through the audit process you will be expected to make recommendations for change where necessary to ensure compliance is achieved and high-quality standards maintained. You will assist in ensuring department compliance with defined Service Legal Agreements, internal department processes and procedures including compliance with Department best practices, SRA and AML regulations and CQS Core Practice Management Standards. To analyse audit data and prepare written reports on the audit findings including compliance breaches. Provide feedback to the Management Team, Managers and staff on audit and compliance findings. To support the Management Team and Senior Staff with embedding compliance and quality processes, including audit activity and compliance monitoring across the branch offices particularly. To be responsible for collating, maintaining, and reporting on data from identified areas of practice. To work closely with Managers to ensure that, where appropriate, findings from the audit process are reflected in performance management activities including training needs analysis and personal development plans. Ensure managers are kept up to date with any changes in SRA, CQS, ICO, GDPR and all other compliance standards. To meet strict deadlines and to comply with SLAs and any KPIs of the business. To promote and inspire best practices and high standards of work in people. Attend and participate in management team meetings as required. To effectively utilise and promote the use of the Case Management IT system. Undertake or deliver training, coaching and working as required. What we need from you
Qualified Lawyer or substantial relevant litigation experience within a conveyancing department of a Law firm or CLC practice. Experience of preparing recommendations, solutions and reports for senior management. Experience of providing guidance to junior staff members. Demonstrable overall knowledge of the Litigation process and the use of tactics to gain the best results. Strong analytical, drafting and research skills. Ability to prioritise workload to increase efficiency. Commercial awareness, proactive and able to convey clear and concise information to all internal stakeholders at all levels. Highly organised and thorough with a strong eye for detail and the ability to assess, plan and prioritise work. To have a flexible approach to work to ensure deadlines are met and internal stakeholders are communicated with on a consistent and regular basis. Ability to advise on compliance, quality and standards applicable to PM Law and ensure our practice continues to evolve to comply with any new guidance. Keeping up to date and knowledgeable on legal and compliance matters relevant to PM Law. Demonstrates a proactive, client and people-centric approach.
