My client specializes in manufacturing bespoke corrugated packaging with an excellent range of innovative, convenient, and cost-effective design solutions. They operate in a specialist area of the UK packaging market, designing and manufacturing quick assemble, cleverly designed corrugated packaging for the e-commerce and retail trade. Purpose of a Technical Designer: To assist the Design Manager in the operation of the Design department, working closely with the internal sales and manufacturing teams, being a point of contact for customers and providing support for the external sales teams when required. Key Accountabilities for a Technical Designer: Specification Creation Forme Ordering and QPP Production Prototyping and Sample Making Stock Control and Maintenance Analysis and Testing Continuous Improvement Compliance Health & Safety Irregular Duties Skills and Qualifications for a Technical Designer: Minimum 2 years' experience within a technical design role; corrugated packaging experience is desirable. Detail-focused individual with great attention to detail. Strong numeracy and analytical skills to assess moderately complex information from multiple sources to complete routine tasks. Creative skills within technical constraints. A good knowledge of CAD, Vector, and Bitmap drawing programs, along with Microsoft Office applications. Strong planning and organization skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage your own activities and office workflow. Store and retrieve information using filing and tracking systems efficiently and rapidly. Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with stakeholders via phone or e-mail. Understanding of logistic operations and practices or supply chain, with previous clerical and administrative experience in a similar role desirable. Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities and be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines. A strong team player.
