We are looking for our next Technical Developer to join our team in Nottingham, with a specific focus on Men’s tailoring. You will work collaboratively with Designers, the Technical Design Manager and specific factories to organise the production of approved prototypes for our Menswear collections. The role requires someone who is very methodical and thorough, to provide and chase samples from manufacturers, adhering to Paul Smith guidelines, whilst able to assist with all technical aspects of the garments from the development and sampling stages through to the production. The Role

To translate design sketches into workable technical construction notes and diagrams. Liaise with the Design teams to produce the required garment for sampling and production. To assist in the research of trims for prototypes/production. Work with factories to create prototypes which meet designer and factory requirements. Inspect and comment on sample garments produced by the factories. To attend prototype and sample fitting sessions with the Designers and Technical colleagues. To alter and update technical construction details as required and provide an accurate record on each style. To organise any re-sampling of styles where required prior to grading or production commencing. To liaise with factories and the pattern room; to approve the grade specifications for production. Maintain contact with factories throughout production and be aware of factory equipment and restrictions. Your Skills and Experience

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Competent user of Corel DRAW, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Credible technical experience working on tailoring is essential. Proven experience of translating design sketches into workable technical construction notes and diagrams. An understanding of men's tailoring construction is desirable. Italian language skills are desirable. Proven experience of constructing prototypes made to Designer, Pattern and factory requirements. Who you are

Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, able to build good working relationships. Proactive and technically competent, with excellent attention to detail. Able to stay calm when working under pressure. Has cultural sensitivity. Adept planning, prioritisation and organisational skills to ensure all deadlines are met. Flexibility to undertake additional duties at busy times. Able to travel within the UK and internationally. Full, current driving licence is essential. What's in it for you
