We are looking for a Technical Director who will work closely with the development, commercial, finance, and construction teams to ensure that Technical and Design goals align with the businesses overall vision and delivery schedules. As Technical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of large and complex developments from inception through to project completion. Working closely with the development, construction, and design teams, you will ensure that each project meets regulatory standards, stays within budget, and aligns with the organization’s vision for quality and sustainability. Project Oversight : Lead and direct all technical activities, from project feasibility and planning to construction and handover. Ensure technical deliverables meet project specifications, timelines, and quality standards. Design Coordination : Oversee the coordination between architectural, structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and interior design teams to deliver cohesive and practical designs. Act as the key liaison between external consultants and internal teams. Compliance and Quality Assurance : Ensure compliance with all building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental standards. Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the project adheres to both technical and aesthetic standards Stakeholder Management : Work closely with senior management, investors, regulatory bodies, and clients to provide regular project updates. Foster positive relationships to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines. Risk Management : Identify and proactively manage technical risks that could impact project delivery. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address potential delays, cost overruns, and other issues. Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented team culture. Develop the team’s expertise in line with industry best practices and company standards. Sustainability and Innovation : Drive sustainability initiatives within projects, ensuring designs and practices contribute to long-term environmental objectives. Introduce innovative construction methodologies and technologies to enhance project efficiency and sustainability. Key Requirements: Extensive experience in a senior technical role within the residential development industry, or experience of working for a main contractor delivering residential projects. Strong technical expertise in architectural and engineering coordination. Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing teams and large-scale projects. In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, planning processes, and health and safety standards. Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively at all levels. A commitment to sustainability and an understanding of the latest trends in sustainable construction. Candidate Profile:
