permanent
opportunity and the salary for this role will be £30,000.00. This particular role will be responsible for looking after our specialist vehicle fleet e.g. Platform elevating vans and HGV's, overhead poling vehicles etc. You must come from a vehicle background as you will be looking at the equipment, their status and see if there is anything we can do to get the vehicles back on the road sooner using your knowledge and experiences. Qualifications or good knowledge around vehicle compliance requirements and full appreciation of the necessity of vehicles and equipment being compliant would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities will include: Controlling downtime effectively, conducting quality work progression activity and updating systems clearly and accurately. Responsibility for Vehicle off road (VOR) follow up progression and updates. Manage in flight repair jobs within the dealership networks. Take opportunities to reduce the time a vehicle or asset is ‘off road’ through appropriate challenge to vendor and considering alternate options. Review and pursue alternative repair methods such as alternative parts supply. Identify trends and escalate network performance concerns to Vendor Management. Liaise with manufacturers on repairs where technical assistance is needed. Raise and manage manufacturer cases for back-order parts. Raise and manage manufacturer loss of use claims / replacement vehicle requests. Proactively chase customers when awaiting authority. Arrange vehicle movements where the repair network does not have capability or capacity to resolve repair. Follow up events after a no fixable roadside event. Communicate VOR updates to stakeholders and the business. What are we looking for? Education and/or Training: Demonstrable, detailed knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably extending to include HGV and ancillary equipment fitted to vehicles. Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications - primarily Outlook and Excel. Qualifications or good knowledge around vehicle compliance requirements and full appreciation of the necessity of vehicles and equipment being compliant. Relevant Work Experience: Experience in a workshop environment or similar. Experience working within a team in an office environment. Adept at computer use and familiar with Microsoft applications. Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge: Demonstrable analytical and problem solving abilities. Ability to multi task with consistency and accuracy. Highly organised, able to manage a variety of work-streams effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a structured, methodical manner. Have strong administration skills, with an ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively. Collaborative, proactive and dynamic approach. Committed to finding solutions, with ability to use initiative and common sense. Communicating & Influencing Skills: Able to communicate effectively, build and maintain a rapport with people at all levels. Ability to manage difficult conversations effectively and hold conversations at a technical level. Ability to listen, and have confidence to question if the understanding of requirements is not absolutely clear. Ability to interpret information speedily and accurately, and take appropriate actions. Be able to convey information concisely to appropriate personnel.
