Technical Engineer

to join their team based at their site in Crimble, Lancashire. This is an ideal opportunity for somebody who has had a 'hands on’ career and is interested in stepping into a split position based in an office 80% and onsite 20% carrying out engineering works. Candidates will be expected to travel and there will be the requirement to stay out overnight from time to time. Technical Engineer Responsibilities:

Attend technical breakdowns on site. Attend any urgent breakdowns that cannot be covered with Service Engineers. Carry out planned remedial works on site not covered by Service Engineers. Conduct control system and energy upgrades. Provide technical support to engineers and customers. Programming PLC’s, screens, temperature controllers & timers for sending out. Building up gas trains & testing. Assist Technical Admin with technical information for remedial quotes. Conduct engineer performance surveys, ideally 2 per engineer, per year. Continuous improvement of the Training Centre. Site visits to survey jobs for accurate costing / call up. Training Service Engineers as directed by Technical Manager. Scheduling technical work - sorting materials & labour with Ops. Producing any RAMs required for jobs. Assisting in writing and issuing technical bulletins as directed by Technical Manager. Conduct any R&D work required by the Technical Manager. Technical Engineer Requirements:

The candidate will ideally be electrical bias and will hold a recognised qualification, ideally HNC. Have a high level of fault-finding skills with the ability to read wiring schematics. Ability to diagnose and install & test motors & VSD’s. Must have good mechanical skills. Have an understanding of PLC’s and variable speed drives. Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus. IT literate - MS Office; Word, Excel and Outlook. Hold a full clean driving licence. Technical Engineer Benefits:

Salary is £43,680 - £46,800. Monday to Friday - 40 hour working week. 23 days holiday + bank holidays. Company vehicle, mobile phone and tablet provided. Company pension scheme. Private healthcare (after 6 months). Loyalty bonus for service (after 2 years).
