At National Grid’s Asset Operations, we maintain the high voltage electricity network, spanning over 4,500 miles of overhead lines, 900 miles of underground cable, and more than 300 substations. This is a dynamic, essential network that powers millions of homes and businesses. With 250,000 assets under our management, we’re constantly evolving to meet the energy demands of tomorrow. As a Technical Engineering Leader, you will be at the heart of our strategy to shape and deliver the next generation of asset management. This is more than just a technical role – you will be guiding the strategic direction for future price controls, ensuring we continue to innovate and improve how we manage our assets to benefit our customers and the planet. You’ll work alongside teams of leaders, engineers, and planners, driving forward the RIIO T3 strategy and beyond. Your expertise will inform the engineering decisions that guide the lifecycle of our electricity transmission assets, ensuring we’re making the best choices for today and tomorrow. You’ll help balance short-term wins with long-term goals, ensuring that all plans are aligned and impactful across the business. Must haves

Bachelor's degree – STEM, equivalent qualification or relevant experience. Operated at a high level in a business – influential with senior leaders. Asset Management – Understand asset lifecycles including processes, policies, risks and compliance. Desirable

Regulatory experience. Developed an asset management strategy. Pay and Benefits

• Up to £74,000 pa + 15% Bonus + Excellent benefits package. • Enhanced holiday package - 28 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days. • The option to buy additional or sell holiday days. • Generous contributory pension scheme - we will double-match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
