We have opportunities for Principal and Senior Data Engineers and Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developers for a fast-growing client in Galway on a permanent or contract basis.

This role is hands-on, involving understanding requirements, contributing to the development of specific product features, including provisioning datasets, creating consumption interfaces, building reusable components, and crafting resilient cloud-based services to provide insights.

Hybrid working policy - there will be a requirement to go to the office in Galway.

Primary Responsibilities:

Design and document scalable data solutions using industry-leading engineering practices. Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines, ensuring data integrity and consistency across diverse sources. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and troubleshoot issues effectively. Implement best practices in data security, compliance, and governance. Provide production support in a 24x7 on-call rotation, ensuring seamless operations.

Experience, Skills & Education: Strong background in relational databases (Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL). Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools like Informatica, Nifi, or Snaplogic. Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and profiling. Expertise in ANSI SQL, database stored procedures, and performance tuning. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS - IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and data streaming tools like Kafka or Kinesis. Familiarity with REST APIs and in-memory technologies. Exposure to Agile, DevOps, CI/CD and Jenkins is a plus. Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment within a fast-paced development schedule. Strong communication skills and fluency in both verbal and written English are crucial. A third-level qualification (Computer Science or an equivalent IT qualification).
