Your Role:
As a Technical Lead, you will take responsibility for specialist and complex calibration and repair operations while ensuring full compliance with UKAS standards and contractual KPIs. You will also play a key role in process improvements, problem-solving, and mentoring colleagues to enhance overall team capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-precision calibration of measuring instrumentation to National UKAS standards.
Lead and coordinate technicians and engineers (non-supervisory role).
Analyze and solve complex technical issues where precedent may not exist.
Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain and service calibration instrumentation, equipment, and facilities.
Produce, review, and audit manual and automated calibration procedures.
Ensure compliance with BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and company quality standards.
Maintain accurate calibration records and certification documentation.
Provide technical support and mentoring to colleagues.
Participate in internal and external audits and interlaboratory measurement comparisons.
Perform additional tasks aligned with your expertise and training as required.
What We're Looking For:
Engineering qualification in a relevant field OR extensive hands-on experience in calibration and metrology.
In-depth knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
Proficiency in Windows-based and laboratory automation software.
Advanced technical expertise in precision instrumentation and calibration processes.
Strong manual dexterity for fine adjustments on high-accuracy instruments.
Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor colleagues.
