About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to enter the engineering industry or with prior machine operation experience. The role involves working with a wide range of machinery to cut, measure, and scale materials for the Formula 1 industry. Full training is provided; however, the ability to read technical drawings is essential.

Key Responsibilities

You will operate and manage various machinery and processes across multiple production areas, including: Inspection & Quality Control

Dimensional and visual inspection of your own output.

Production Operations

Blank Preparation

Milling elastomer materials. Cutting/stamping blanks to size and weight specifications. Operating Barwell preform cutters.

Metal & PTFE Preparation

Masking, shot blasting, and degreasing metals. Mixing and applying bonding agents to metals and PTFE.

Moulding

Setting up moulds and presses. Operating multiple moulding presses (compression and transfer). Trimming excess flash from moulded components.

RTV Silicone Casting

Mixing and degassing two-part silicone. Cleaning, preparing, and pouring materials into moulds.

Trimming & Finishing

Operating manual lathes and knifing machines for cutting and polishing. Applying sealants and performing hand assembly tasks. Operating laser marking equipment.

Other Duties

Correct manual handling of tools and moulds. Compliance with production paperwork, SOPs, and HSE standards. Flexibility to assist in other production areas as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in a rubber manufacturing environment is desirable. Strong dexterity to handle small components while wearing gloves. Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of foreign object defect prevention and rectification. Ability to understand and complete production paperwork accurately.

Competencies

Awareness of quality standards and their business impact. Strong housekeeping practices to maintain a clean work area. Ability to follow health and safety requirements diligently.
