Overview:

Working exclusively with our client, a leading premier injection moulding machinery and automation supplier, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Technical Manager with strong experience within injection moulding capital equipment. Applicants must be able to demonstrate proven expertise in effective people management, good commercial understanding and championing of technical project engineering efficiencies plus productivity optimization for all respective plastic moulding and automation build & commissioning projects. Remit: This position will suit an experienced senior technical, process or engineering moulding professional with several years’ IMM experience. The candidate will need good knowledge of core plastic injection moulding engineering disciplines, bespoke automation and robot capital equipment. The Technical Manager role will suit applicants with proven experience of engineering management, people management & skills development, business operations management, budget control and working to concise project management timeframes. The successful Technical Manager will play a pivotal role in defining and executing planned business & project strategies for the good of the business, their skilled workforce and growth program, galvanizing and steering the engineering teams for leading continuous improvement & lean initiatives, attention to detail applications & moulding project concepts and chairing proactive problem solving for ensuring the right solution is secured for the end customer. Co-ordinating & promoting existing business success plans designed at improving overall injection moulding automation effectiveness including safety, quality, cost, performance and people within each bespoke engineering project. Role: As Technical Manager you will be responsible for ensuring adherence and compliance to safety standards at all times. Working with the technical, engineering, quality, logistics & commercial teams to define ‘best practice’ and improve all aspects of customer automation projects in line with business SOP’s and best practice methodology. Working closely with the Field Sales team and commercial HQ to support RFQ’s, cost estimating and any injection moulding or automation technical support enquiries. To ensure enquiries are handled and solutions turned around in a succinct, professional and clearly communicated manner. Responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of manufacturing (injection moulding) best practice. Preparation of Capex specifications & ISO regulations for plastic injection moulding machine tools, ancillary equipment and other moulding technologies & supporting services procured / ordered by the customer. Ensuring a commitment to timely completion of staff appraisals, defining development plans and planning training requirements. Developing reporting tools to measure business objectives, engineering task performance and highlight / identify improvement opportunities. Coaching and developing staff to ensure a high performing engineering & technical support team focused on delivering customer value. Providing technical expertise to the team, transferring skills and knowledge within the technical & engineering teams and wider Site team. Analysing performance, productivity and deliverables data and prepare reporting to Directors and Head of Sales on a weekly & monthly basis. Empowering and Improving site technical competency through the development of team members. Experience Requirements: Minimum 10 years’ experience within plastic injection moulding processing discipline and proven experience & technical knowledge of plastic injection moulding machinery, automation and ancillary capital equipment. Minimum 5 years’ experience in people supervisory / management & business operations management. Supported by either Industry recognized qualifications in Polymer Processes / Engineering / Science or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering disciplines. Good business commercial process understanding. Strong attention to detail application. Enthusiastic personality, can do-will do approach and professional aptitude.
