Technical Manager Job in Chelmsford, Essex

Our client has a new Technical Manager job which offers an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join their Chelmsford team. The role is perfect for someone with a proven track record in managing and delivering working drawings for housing developers, housing associations, contractors, and SMEs.

Based in the city centre, the practice has grown from strength to strength over the last few years. They now work with several of the largest names in residential development in the UK. The practice has a portfolio that ranges from one-off bespoke homes to large-scale residential developments. Due to continued success and secured work pipeline, they are now seeking a Technical Manager to join the team.

Role & Responsibilities

Delivering and managing working drawing projects

Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals

Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and external consultants to ensure projects are executed to the highest standards

Driving business development by maintaining and expanding relationships with new and existing clients

Conducting site visits and appraisals to ensure projects are delivered effectively

Reviewing and checking drawings/information to uphold the practice's commitment to quality

Mentoring and supporting junior team members to aid their professional development.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in managing and delivering working drawings for housing developers, housing associations, contractors, and SMEs, either from within an architect's office or within a housing developer/contractor - this experience is essential for the role

Possess excellent technical knowledge

Ability to deal directly with clients as the main point of contact

Strong organizational and project management skills - with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Commercial awareness - understanding client needs and the business context

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
