ABOUT YOU

As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the Technical Department of Four Level 3 Technicians. You will ensure that the business complies with NDT Standards, develop new techniques to meet customer requirements, provide advice to customers, and work as part of the management team. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

Required skills and experience: Level 3 NDT qualifications in a number of disciplines Leadership experience Additional qualifications in other inspection methods would be advantageous Good IT literacy skills Good knowledge of NDT specifications and quality control systems Knowledge of ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 would be advantageous

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will be based in Derby and contribute to the overall management of the company as part of the management team. You will be required to liaise with others inside and outside the department in a proactive and reactive manner to provide or obtain information to keep people informed and ensure effective completion of work.

Key activities: Management of a Department with the following responsibilities Liaison with Customers Keep Level 2 & 3 approvals up to date Production of techniques / data cards Approval of techniques / data cards Contract Review of paperwork Raising of Technical Documentation Technical responsibility of the Radiography department Training & over-checking of staff & functional checks Ensuring Calibration checks are carried out Testing of Customers' parts Lead Audits in the department Maintain process control documentation and ensure adherence to inspection protocols
