Technical Services Manager Tipton, West Bromwich £40,000 per annum Permanent Role This is a great opportunity for an experienced Technical Services Manager who has experience within the food manufacturing background to join our client on a permanent basis. It is essential that you have experience of managing a small team as well as new product development (NPD) exposure. You will drive continuous improvement in relation to customer services, drive food production best practice and technical standards taking into consideration any commercial changes to the business. Requirements of the Technical Services Manager:

Food Safety qualifications. Appropriate food manufacturing experience. Good literacy and numeracy skills and computer competent on Microsoft Office. High attention to detail levels, strong communication skills (verbal and written). Investigative, analytical and decisive. Ability to influence at all levels. Knowledge of safety, legality, compliance and quality across site process and product range. Ability to proactively manage data and prioritise workloads. Ability to contribute to crisis situations e.g. Product Recalls. Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience within food manufacturing and knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements. Responsibilities of the Technical Services Manager:

Working safely, wearing the correct PPE, reporting accidents & near misses. Internal Auditing: Quality Management System, Prerequisite Programs. Lead service audits, Hallal Kosher and organic. Manage raw materials & Supplier verification. Ensure compliance with raw material and finished product specifications. Carry out internal and supplier audits. Proactively challenge for continuous improvement. Compliance to product surveillance systems. Artwork approval. Training of Operations on critical food safety, legality and quality procedures and processes. Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues. Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions. Ensuring internal and external customer requirements are achieved and continually improved with regard to products post launch and issues arising from visits and audits. Ensure that customer and legal requirements are maintained for compliance at all times. To ensure the successful delivery of the development cycle by providing relevant information at weekly project meetings, and those associated with our gated development process. To ensure all relevant technical matters relating to customer / product are formally communicated to the appropriate personnel within the business. To develop and maintain effective relationships with customers. Implementation of and compliance to technical policies. Manufacture of safe, legal and quality products consistently. Proactively collect, collate and report on relevant site data. Play an active role in achieving site certifications where applicable. Supports and provide a technical service to the site teams.
