Technical Officer – Commercial Team (Environmental Health)
Grade 7, £36,830 to £40,219 pro-rata (inclusive of local weighting) depending on experience. Full Time. Permanent. Based in Hertford, with the option for home working up to 50% of working hours after completion of probationary period. Deliver a wide range of regulatory and advisory activities covering food safety, occupational health and safety, infectious disease control, skin piercing registration, private water supply and animal licensing. Respond to service requests and give appropriate advice. Carry out a range of inspections, investigations, and sampling. Take appropriate enforcement action where necessary. About you
As an ideal candidate, you will have: A relevant qualification or experience and a working knowledge of the legislation and regulations. The ability to deal with challenging situations using tact and discretion. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work without supervision, prioritise work to meet deadlines. Excellent written skills, with the ability to write schedules of work, summarise accurately and convey complex information. A working knowledge of Uniform Enterprise database is desirable.
