Technical Officer Company: Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) Location: Coventry / Hybrid Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum Employment Type: Full-time Travel Requirements: Throughout the UK and RoW (as required) The ASFP, a leading authority in passive fire protection, is seeking a Technical Officer to join its dynamic, award-winning team. This role arises from the association's substantial growth, increased industry demands, and the need for strategic support in technical, competency and regulatory initiatives. Job Purpose:

The Technical Officer is expected to support all aspects of the technical, regulatory affairs, and training for the ASFP. To support the strategy and delivery of disciplines with the HoT and competency team. To make regular reports to the Senior Management Team (SMT), and if/where applicable the ASFP Executive Board and/or Council. The Technical Team is responsible for generating much of the content produced by the ASFP, with the aim of improving standards in the manufacture, installation, and testing of passive fire protection products and thus achieving safer buildings. Technical Officer Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of technical and regulatory work. Collaborate with the ASFP's team to contribute to training provision and competency pathways. Deliver training courses. Support the HoT and Technical, Representation, and Regulatory team. Contribute to strategic discussions and project prioritization. Facilitate reports, presentations, and discussions as needed. Technical Officer Requirements:

Experience in technical, regulatory, and standards sectors, preferably in the passive fire industry. Understanding of British, European, and other standards regimes. Familiarity with building codes and regulations (Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991). Business acumen in linking standards, compliance, and commercial aspects. Ability to work within or near Coventry with occasional travel preferred. Qualifications:

Technical/engineering background or relevant apprenticeship. Membership of professional bodies (IFE, IMechE, CABE, IEEE, RICS, SFPE, etc.) preferred. 5-10 years in passive fire protection products/services/testing/certification. Skills and Competencies:

Detailed technical knowledge of passive fire protection products, testing, and certification. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Analytical, team player, results-driven, aligned with ASFP's vision and values.
