Job Description

Background GraphEnergyTech is a start-up working to integrate graphene electrodes into solar cells to reduce costs and improve performance. We are looking for a technical project manager to coordinate technical and business development activities in collaboration with our partners and customers. You will be working closely with academic researchers and commercial partners around the world as we develop our high-conductivity inks and demonstrate technical performance. This is an opportunity to get involved at the early stages of an exciting start-up company which has the potential to revolutionize the solar industry. The role will initially report directly to the CEO. Tasks will include day-to-day management of collaborative projects and the administration of grant funded projects. The role will also cover some business development activities including the preparation of presentation material, press releases, and other external communications. Essential Qualifications Degree in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or physics. Essential skills and experience Excellent communication skills: high level of written and verbal English, experience with preparation of presentation and marketing materials for a specialised technical product. Project management experience. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience of working with international customers and partners. Experience of working in a research-based organisation on new materials development. Experience of working with solar cells (R&D, manufacturing, and/or testing) or other semiconductor device technology. Experience of grant and proposal writing. Proficiency in a foreign language (ideally French or Mandarin) would be an advantage. Person Profile Demonstrated ability to work under own initiative. Proven ability to work with external partners and customers. Desire to work and willingness to contribute in a start-up environment. Desire to travel internationally as part of the job. Flexible nature – willing to take on new tasks as required in a dynamic environment. Location The company is registered in the UK with strong links to EPFL in Switzerland. We have staff in both Cambridge and Lausanne. It is envisaged that this role will be based in Cambridge, with the option of working from home for 3 days per week.
