A well-established and rapidly growing UK manufacturer is looking to recruit a Business Development-focused Technical Sales Engineer to strengthen the team and drive substantial business growth. The Role This is a business development-oriented role, focused on the sale of technical products either directly to customers or through distribution networks. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding the company’s reach by nurturing relationships with existing clients and distributors, while actively seeking new business opportunities, securing new distributors, and acquiring new customers. You will be given a high level of autonomy to manage your schedule, arrange meetings, and take ownership of your sales pipeline to meet growth and profitability targets. A proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities, understanding market trends, and attending key trade shows will be critical. Cold calling and prospecting for new clients will form a significant part of your day-to-day activities, as you work to establish new business relationships and grow the client base. The role is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to trade events and client visits across the UK, and occasionally Europe. The company’s products are utilised across various industries, including environmental, medical, and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong business development experience, the ability to sell complex technical products, and a knack for identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities. Tailoring solutions to meet the needs of both retail and trade customers will be essential for success. The Candidate Proven track record in business development, with a focus on generating new business and expanding market share. Experience in selling technical products or equipment, with an ability to understand complex product offerings. Strong sales experience, with a proactive approach to meeting targets and driving growth. Confidence, tenacity, and a high level of motivation are essential, along with a customer-focused attitude and the ability to build lasting relationships. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial. A background in engineering or relevant technical qualifications would be advantageous. The Package This role offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000 per annum, plus an uncapped commission structure, giving you the opportunity to earn based on your performance. Seniority Level
