Technical Sales Estimator

Permanent Position Competitive Salary - DOE Free Onsite Parking 07:30 Monday to Thursday 07:15 Friday I am currently working with a sub-contract engineering business in Redditch, who are now recruiting for an Estimator to join their existing team. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Estimator will come from a technical background in either engineering or manufacturing who can operate in a commercial role to estimate new enquiries and assist the team. The main requirements of the Estimator will be to: Interpret customers' requirements from specifications and drawings. Using software to create quotations and price proposals. Liaise with suppliers for material and sub-contract costs. Deal with client's technical questions with support from the company's manufacturing engineers. Promote the business and follow up on enquiries to maximise new business opportunities. Following up existing enquiries to encourage feedback from our customers. Liaising with the engineering, production, and quality staff to ensure the customer’s specific requirements are communicated to staff in all departments. The ideal candidate for the Estimator will have: Good understanding of manufacturing principles. Experience in sheet metal and fabrication industry. Proven experience in a customer service role within a business-to-business environment. Ability to organise and manage multiple priorities. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly. Working knowledge of MS Office. 2D CAD experience, handling and analysing dxf and dwg files. The ability to use 3D CAD software would also be advantageous but training can be provided if required. In return, the Estimator can expect to receive a competitive salary, depending on their level of experience and knowledge, free onsite parking, 33 days holiday entitlement (20 flexible days + 8 bank holidays + 5 to be kept for Christmas shutdown).
