Job holder is likely to have solid experience in B2B sales and have been able to provide Level 1 Fluid Management services. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Metalworking, including being able to demonstrate trial setup and follow-up with customers. Ability to demonstrate Total Cost of Ownership method. Strong technical knowledge of lubricants/machine tools and their applications within the Metalworking sector in the UK. Proven track record of new business growth and sector development over a sustained period. Postgraduate degree or above in one of the following fields: chemistry, chemical or mechanical engineering. Activities

Extensively identify and develop new, profitable business opportunities within the Metalworking sector in the UK through planned and sustained prospection. Identify leads and prospects and convert these into TotalEnergies customers. Monitor costs by the managed use of price increases or supported by other commercial methods. Fully explore potential opportunities to move key customers to contract. Maintain and develop a detailed record of both customers and prospects using the preferred company tools, particularly SalesForce CRM. Monitor customer fluid measurements through the Interactive Fluid app to advise/support customers. Ensure the Companies HSEQ policies are followed at all times, eliminating risks to staff and the environment. Produce concise and timely weekly visit reports (and other reports where agreed) to ensure weekly activity reflects individual and team KPI targets. Plan visits to customers and prospects in a structured, methodical and safe manner. Ensure that the Metalworking annual GMVC and Volume targets are achieved. Where appropriate, provide technical support or specialist knowledge to clients. Compose professional presentations to support new business gains, utilising principles of Total Cost Ownership. Recommend metalworking products, convert competitor grades, and rationalise grades to meet and optimise customer requirements. Prepare technical tenders, equivalent lists, and surveys in support of all metalworking tenders that TotalEnergies chooses to participate in. Liaise with customers to advise, support, and manage expectations. Look for opportunities to build technical strategic relationships with key organisations including OEMs. Advise, represent, and assist where necessary the brand strategy for the lubricants business (marketing department, advertising, promotions, trade shows, and PR). Provide technical advice to TotalEnergies Lubricants customers or potential customers when required. The Technical Sales Engineer is accountable for the effective management of the Metalworking sector (profitability, technical support, journey planning, credit worthiness, and administration). Working time is split between home and field (visiting clients), and travel to trade shows and conferences is also required. Initially, you will be expected to gain experience of TotalEnergies in the UK, develop product/service knowledge, and build your reputation in technical sales. You will handle customer queries and ensure high standards of recommendations in line with specifications, regulations, and policies. You should be able to explain high technical issues to non-technical users and respond with recommendations in case of product contamination or equipment failure regarding lubrication.
