Job Title : Technical Sales Manager About the Company : A chemical distribution company,has recently expanded into supplying nutraceuticals. To lead and grow this exciting new venture, they are seeking an accomplished and ambitious individual with a strong chemistry background, exceptional commercial acumen, and a proven ability to drive business development. This role offers an exciting blend of challenges, a dynamic work environment, and an opportunity to drive the growth of an entrepreneurial business unit, continuing the company’s upward trajectory. Key Responsibilities : Drive business development and growth of the new speciality raw materials business unit. Develop and lead a sales team as needed, setting clear goals and fostering a high-performance culture. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients, and negotiate contracts to secure new accounts across the UK and EU. Maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities, conducting market research to identify growth opportunities. Track sales performance, analyze key metrics, and prepare regular reports on sales activities and revenue forecasts. Create product and company presentations for potential and existing customers. Develop technical presentations in collaboration with formulation and research teams. Oversee the financial performance (P&L) of the business unit, monitor expenses, manage budgets, and optimize profitability. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, networking with stakeholders and promoting products and services. Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Visit customers, distributors, and suppliers as required. Essential Requirements : 5+ years of experience as a Sales Manager, with a proven track record in the speciality chemical industry. A strong academic background in Chemistry (or a related scientific discipline), with a degree (BSc/MSc) from a reputable university. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans, drive new business, and identify market opportunities. Exceptional leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities. Self-motivated and able to work independently under remote management. Proficient in creating and delivering client-ready presentations. Proficiency in English, including technical terminology and documentation. Technologically adept, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe as required. Desirable Qualities : Experience working with CRMs and ERPs. Formal management training or qualifications (e.g., MBA or other courses).
