Instrumentation Supply Company The Role: The candidate will be responsible for sales growth in a number of territories based on a strategic approach for growth across all industries. The candidate will also be required to take an active role in the manufacturing initiative to product own brand equipment. The company is currently investing in a number of improvements including additional lines, focused cross-selling initiatives and other marketing developments to support sales growth. This is a critical role and the successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in strategy and business development ideas for the company as a whole. He/she will be supported by the Applications Engineer, Sales Engineers, Sales Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, Managing Director and Executive Chairman all with significant tenure and experience within the industry. A key part of the role will be business development and prospecting for new customers. He/she will also be capable, after appropriate training, of handling technical enquiries and in some instances, providing estimates. A key part of the role will be supporting business development through the two field sales engineers and supporting the technical requirement of customers. He/she will be capable, after appropriate training, of handling technical enquiries and preparing technical proposals for customers. Find and explore new potential vendors internationally. Refine specifications and select the applicable equipment to meet customers' specification. Apply knowledge of flow equipment range to advise customers on appropriate solutions. Input into bespoke designs to meet customers' requirements. Work closely with customers on the phone and via email (but also in person when a specific project or a customer requires it). Routinely prepare quotations and proposals in line with customer requirements. Prepare cost estimates and generate pricing in line with company guidelines. Communicate with suppliers/manufacturers on technical and commercial issues where necessary. Maintain contact with customer after proposals have been made in order to ensure that the contract is won. Accompany sales team on customer visits where technical input is required in winning orders. Provide support to the Manufacturing department to develop and product company own brand product. The role would be required to work 39 hours a week, exclusively for the company. Requirements: He/she will have relevant technical skills in instruments & valves or other fluid control products and a successful track record of sales development. He/she will have a good understanding of fluid-related products (Mechanical & Electronic), possibly with an applications engineering background. The successful candidate will work largely from the office but also from home depending on the circumstances. The candidate would be required to visit customers nationwide when scheduled. He/she will also need to present at the West London office for induction training and as required thereafter for meetings. Technical or Applications Engineering experience. Experience with selling into varied markets/industries. Customer relationships within these areas. Good inter-personal skills and results-oriented. Margin conscious sales approach. Understanding of instruments, valves and flow control systems: flow, pressure and pressure changes.
