Technical Services Manager - Electrical Bias

A leading engineering maintenance provider with a strong industry reputation is seeking a Technical Services Manager to oversee the operations of a 300,000+ square foot commercial site based in the City of London. In this role, you will manage a large engineering team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the site while reporting directly to the Account Manager. The business has a turnover of £80M and has been operating within the City of London for well over 30 years, with a great reputation for delivering hard services contracts within the built environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day engineering team and ensure KPIs and SLAs are met in accordance with agreements.
Oversee HV works and yearly shutdowns across the site.
Manage water treatment log-books.
Conduct regular site inspections, address issues promptly, and ensure planned maintenance is completed on schedule.
Collaborate with stakeholders and consultants to implement effective maintenance and repair programs.
Maintain site records (e.g., asset registers, plans, testing schedules) and act as needed.
Build strong tenant relationships, resolve operational concerns, and lead tenant meetings as necessary.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including audits, emergency plans, fire drills, and environmental policies.
Liaise with local authorities and oversee major work programs, coordinating contractors and stakeholders.
Produce management reports and oversee contractor performance to ensure adherence to standards and contracts.
Manage and train onsite staff, conduct performance reviews, and set objectives.
Perform additional duties aligned with business needs.
Technical Responsibilities
Monitor and resolve M&E issues, providing technical support and collaborating with contractors.
Hold regular meetings with M&E and lift contractors to ensure preventive maintenance and performance standards are met.
Approve permits, review documentation, and ensure contractor compliance with site protocols.
Manage landlord M&E projects and oversee tenant fit-out works to protect systems and infrastructure.
Provide engineering team support, drive energy efficiency, and uphold high engineering standards.
Ensure competency of 3rd-party specialists and engineering staff while fostering a culture of sustainability.
