About the Technical Services Technologist job The purpose of your role will be to take responsibility for managing product and supplier information, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. You shall collaborate with the Technical Team, suppliers, and key departments while supporting operational needs and deputising as required. Key tasks Manage supplier approvals, technical documentation, and compliance for raw materials and packaging, ensuring alignment with customer and legal requirements. Maintain risk assessments, approved supplier lists, and certification records, supporting compliance with legislation and retailer standards. Collaborate with internal teams (Purchasing, NPD, Technical, Warehouse, etc.) and provide technical input for projects, product launches, and customer requirements. Support audits, traceability exercises, and customer complaint investigations, assisting with documentation and Quality Management Systems. About You Degree in Food Science or related field (preferred) or 2+ years in a technical role within the food industry and experience within supplier approval. Experience in supplier and packaging approvals, assurance systems, and food legislation. Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Knowledge of HACCP, supplier management, BRC certifications, and retailer standards/audits. More details The Technical Services Technologist job (ref:8844) is paying £30,000 - £35,000 according to your experience. There is the opportunity to work 1 or 2 days from home per week once established in the role. The site is near Braintree, Essex and is commutable from Halstead, Colchester, Chelmsford, Haverhill, Sudbury, Witham, Ipswich and surrounding towns. The working week is Monday to Friday.
