Do you have a construction background? Are you experienced in managing construction projects? If so, we would love to hear from you! We have one exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with proven skills and experience in these areas to join the Asset Management and Programme Works team. The role involves supervising a team of surveyors, leading and co-ordinating part of the investment service. The successful candidate will drive robust financial and project/contract management of investment work and effective liaison between all partners involved in delivering a customer-focused investment service. We are looking for 2 people to lead on an area of programme delivery on site. The programmes of work will change, but the commitment to effective programme management and positive outcomes for our tenants remains the same. These are key roles in the delivery of housing investment, and you will be responsible for delivering programmes on time and budget while maintaining quality and minimizing disruption. Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to produce reports, commission services, and effectively manage external contractors. We are seeking candidates with a suitable building maintenance/construction qualification, such as HNC, with at least 2 years of proven experience. You will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of building surveying and maintenance based on significant practical experience in social housing at a supervisory level. You will also demonstrate relevant knowledge of Construction Contracts, Building Regulations, British Standards, CDM, and Domestic Energy Assessments. Ideally, you will also have experience of working in cooperation with partners, networks, and stakeholders to achieve and maintain high professional standards, including compliance with appropriate procedures and statutory requirements. We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity, and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled, and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly. It is a great time to join us, and we welcome your application. Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria of this job are guaranteed an interview. Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year, and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities that benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part-time, or as a job share. If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade. If this sounds like an appealing opportunity, please contact us for an informal discussion. George Bowling - 07553 036183
