Technical Superintendent – Permanent – South Wales – Competitive package This is an excellent opportunity to join an award-winning towage provider. The role is home-based covering technical operations in South Wales. The purpose of this job is to ensure the full technical readiness of vessels to meet service commitments of the operating location. Responsibilities include: Support in the safe, effective, efficient, and economic management of all aspects of the operation, maintenance, and overhaul of the vessels. Responsible for verifying the vessels are compliant with all relevant legislation and the requirements of Classification, producing variance reports for senior management as required. Monitor or report on new or current legislation, which may impact on the operation of the ships or the Engineering Department ashore. Responsible for the Line Management of all Engineering Staff on company vessels. Responsible for the upkeep of the Ship’s Dry Dock and Repair programme, prepare dry dock/refit specifications. Conduct regular ship visits to monitor the onboard engineering function and to participate in the ISM auditing process. Qualifications Required: Class one Chief Engineer certificate (Desirable) Experience sailing in the rank of Chief/2nd Engineer at sea Previous shore-based experience (Desirable) Knowledge of Flag State & Class requirements & certificates Experience with implementing and maintaining ISM code You must have the right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driver's license to be considered.
