Position: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Glasgow, G41 5SG.
Start date: asap
End date: 6-7 months (no current approval to extend the position further)
Hours: 40 per week (variable date per day depending on rostered shift)
Pay rate: £33.13 UMB
OT: 150% (if required)
IR35: Inside
Compliance: Medical and D&A
Job Responsibilities
In depth knowledge of Rolling Stock systems/procedures including schematics, fault finding techniques, and download analysis. Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher) and experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment. Preferably an Electrical bias. Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures. Understands and cares for tools, equipment, and PPE as appropriate. Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). Ability to fault-find using a number of different methods including diagnostic software. Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications. Ability to produce detailed analytical technical reports. Good communication skills. Required Qualifications
