Technical Engineer / Sales Engineer / Technical Support Engineer
required to join a distributor of industrial automation products based in Southampton.
The Technical Engineer / Sales Engineer / Technical Support Engineer must have the ability to advise, follow up and complete sales interactions with our customer base and identify opportunities for them along the way.
The successful candidate must have a hands-on background or sales/technical knowledge of electrical control and industrial automation products, including PLCs, Programmable Logic Controllers, variable speed drives, and electrical control gear. This role would be ideal for someone looking to come off the tools and transition into a technical support role.
Package £30,000 - £43,000 Annual Bonus Health insurance after 3 months Pension
Responsibilities include:
Drawing on a background of technical knowledge in order to assist customers in product selection suitable for their application, and to provide post order support. Assist in the generation of accurate and competitive sales quotations to meet the customers' requirements. Providing knowledge for a range of electrical control and industrial automation products, including PLCs, Programmable Logic Controllers, variable speed drives, electrical control gear, etc. Providing product selection and customer support on a range of industrial automation products. Continue to study technical and product-related material in an effort to keep up-to-date with the latest technology. Help to build close relations with customers and suppliers. Reporting to the Branch Manager.
36.5hrs per week - Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:30pm (Flexi time available) Commutable to site in Sarisbury Green, Southampton
Requirements include:
Experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Technical Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Advisor, Internal Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Advisor, Sales Executive, Technical Sales Engineer, Inside Sales Representative, Applications Engineer or similar. A hands-on background or sales/technical knowledge of electrical control and industrial automation products, including PLCs, Programmable Logic Controllers, variable speed drives, electrical control gear, etc. is essential. Experience in a hands-on role within automation looking to get off the tools would be considered. Commutable to site in Sarisbury Green, Southampton.
