We are looking for a bright customer-focused talent to join our technical support team. You will put your experience of working as a hands-on, customer-facing technical support specialist to good use helping staff, teachers, and students to fix their IT issues. You will be working across Midlothian both in Council offices and schools, facing a diverse range of technical challenges on Windows, Apple, and Chrome-based devices and software.
Working independently, you will be the first port of call for Council and school staff who are having problems with IT hardware and software. We will expect you to understand and help our staff get back up and running quickly with whatever technology they are struggling with. The Council is a flexible employer and will consider applicants looking to work flexibly. Minimum Requirements

Position Title: Technical Support Specialist Directorate: Place Contract Status: Permanent Hours of Work: 21 Weeks per year: 52 Please note that it is Midlothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on you working 21 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £17,642.06 per annum. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
