As a Technical Surveyor working for this Central London Borough, you will work with the Commissioning Manager to ensure that all pre-construction activities meet high technical standards, deliver value for money, and comply with the Partnering Agreement. This is a vital role that supports the effective preparation of investment tasks and task orders within our clients Housing Revenue Account (HRA) investment programme.
Key Responsibilities Include
Review and challenge client briefs to ensure they meet investment needs and minimize inefficiencies. Act as the technical lead for pre-construction activities, appraising proposed solutions from service providers. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop accurate budgets, designs, and technical appraisals. Review planning, building control, and listed building consent applications to ensure compliance. Provide technical input into design standards and innovative solutions.
We are looking for someone with an extensive track record carrying out a role of this nature within a Local Authority or a Housing Association. Technical competency is of importance, but you must also be able to show excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively project manage multiple projects. You must have a strong understanding of design standards, planning, and building regulations and exceptional problem-solving and risk management skills.
This will initially be a 3-month contract but could be extended beyond this, and our client offers hybrid working. The rate offered is £400/day Umbrella.
