Technical Underwriter – Hybrid in Petersfield or Colchester – ARD1065325 We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Underwriter to join our growing team. Reporting to our Head of Technical Underwriting, you will collaboratively monitor and manage the underwriting results and portfolio across Casualty and Property (including Non-Standard Home and Property Owners) products, as well as assist in the underwriting and administration of the larger and more complex risks. So, what does the role of a Technical Underwriter here involve? As a Technical Underwriter you will provide a pivotal role in assessing and evaluating risks, managing portfolios and driving underwriting results. Your responsibilities include: Assist in developing and executing against an agreed underwriting strategy for the relevant products and insurer facilities within our Specialist Commercial pillar. Monitor underwriting results of the portfolio. Act as a main ‘day-to-day’ technical point of contact. Set and support the continuous monitoring of technical standards and adherence to them, including through the QA process. Directly underwriting and/or supporting colleagues with the more complex risks. Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with all key stakeholders, including brokers, insurers and industry experts. Provide underwriting guidance to support other members of the team. What experience does a Technical Underwriter need? Cert CII preferable. Extensive specialist underwriting knowledge, ability, and experience DIP CII/ ACII preferable. Advanced level of specialist market and specialist product knowledge. A working knowledge of legal and regulatory Insurance framework. Proven, effective training/coaching style. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data and make informed decisions. Geo Specialist Commercial ambassador.
