This one-year programme is built to provide you with extensive practical experience, working on our core projects enabling our digital transformation across all aspects of the software development lifecycle; supporting and delivering high quality software changes across Hastings systems and platforms. You will be a proactive member of a Scrum Team with a focus on developing your coding and collaboration skills, applying the knowledge and skills you have learnt during your degree.

To support your technical placement, we can offer access to our training resources to supplement. You’ll be able to tailor your learning pathway to match your career ambitions in technology.

During your programme you will be assigned to the DevOps Team and will have the opportunity to:

You will improve efficiency, repeatability, reliability and quality of the change delivery processes and increase process efficiencies through low code automation.

You will work closely with the Principal DevOps and Automation Engineer and Solution Architect Team to identify new CI/CD tools to reduce Change delivery cycle times whilst increasing quality and repeatability of deliveries.

Manage assessment, decision making, procurement and roll-out of tools, ensuring input is being sought from the user community.

Implementation and adherence to best practices for tool sets and controls to monitor adherence.

Requirements

Currently undertaking a Computer Science degree with a placement year option.

Collaborative with the ability to contribute to the conversation with excellent communication skills.

Passionate about technology.

Coding experience or a keen interest which can be demonstrated.

Hungry for knowledge – curious and innovative.

10th Feb 2025 If successful, you’ll then need to complete a role suitability practical test or video interview. You’ll receive a new web link for this.

23rd Feb 2025 Closing date for the role suitability practical test or video interview.

12th Mar 2025 If successful, you will be notified and invited to an in-person assessment centre.

25th – 27th Mar 2025 The in-person Assessment Centres will be held in Bexhill-On-Sea or Leicester between the specified dates.

31st Mar – 4th Apr 2025 Feedback and Job Offers will be made to assessment centre attendees.

15th Sep 2025 Your placement at Hastings Direct will begin.
