Where you fit in: As our Telemetry Engineer you will: Support design, development, testing and deployment of business critical BSG services including: Remote Telemetry Units and Communication Systems. SCADA systems Instrumentation Programmable Logic Control systems Maintaining engineering specifications. To provide a support function to technical leads in validation of solutions and services designed to meet the business requirements in terms of customer experience, performance, security, scalability, reliability, disaster recovery and within financial constraints. Demonstrate awareness of strategic plans (up to a 5 year view) Perform an engineering role on technology projects through: Identifying technical tasks and providing realistic estimates. Operating in the agreed development methodology. Adhering to engineering & IT process throughout the project delivery lifecycle. Adhering to technical standards. Supporting delivery of services that are: What skills & qualifications you will need: Experience in building and supporting Telemetry solutions and services against challenging business targets, in one of the following technical disciplines: Remote Telemetry Units and communications. SCADA systems Programmable Logic Control systems awareness Instrumentation awareness You will also benefit from having: Experience gained in delivery of Telemetry biased projects with knowledge of: Hardware, Software, and/or Hosted Architectures. Experience of troubleshooting within the Telemetry technology landscape. Ability to absorb technical information and communicate effectively to all levels, both technical and non-technical audiences. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of best practice process An understanding of the importance of non-functional aspects of Telemetry services. An understanding of quality assurance practices, such as formal testing methodologies An understanding of Business Process Management and the importance of process standardisation.
