Mon-Fri An opportunity has arisen to join Kent Police and Essex Police Serious Crime Directorate Forensic Services as a Tenprint Identification Officer. This role will be based at our newly refurbished Fingerprint Services Hub in Laindon, Essex. In this role you will provide a comprehensive Tenprint processing service for both forces. The successful candidate will process the fingerprint forms of all arrested persons in Kent Police and Essex Police areas for inclusion on the National Fingerprint Database, ensuring all technical and administrative functions are completed to the highest possible standards to assist with identification of offenders and reduce crime. At shortlisting we will be looking for evidence of: Good standard of education to GCSE or equivalent Experience and knowledge of computer systems and IT skills, including Microsoft Office Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail Good interpersonal and communication skills In addition, it would be helpful if you could evidence: Experience working from a Standard Operating Procedure Experience/knowledge of working in an accredited environment. Awareness of current legislation relating to fingerprints including the Police And Criminal Evidence Act (PACE 1984) and Protection of Freedoms Act (PoFA 2012) Location and Hours: Weekdays Mon-Fri 08:30-16:30 Laindon, Essex – a short walk from the train station. Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to.
