Test Development Engineer

Test Development Engineer focuses on provide first-line technical support for production test issues, including diagnosis.

What the role involves

• Provide first-line technical support for production test issues, including diagnosis.
• Develop test equipment, including development jigs, qualification fixtures, manual and automated test systems.
• Supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities from a test engineering perspective.
• Maintaining and improve technical documentation relating to test systems and processes.
• Maintain existing test hardware and software platforms.
• Identify and implement improvements to test processes, equipment efficiency, and cost reduction opportunities.

Skills and requirements

• Ideally have a qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (A Level, BTEC, HNC, HND or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of electronic test equipment and its application in a manufacturing environment (manual and ATE).
• Good understanding of test engineering principles and manufacturing test processes.
• Experience testing switched mode power supplies (SMPS) or similar electronic circuitry.
